RTI activist and MUDA complainant Snehamayi Krishna on Wednesday expressed doubts over the Lokayukta’s ability to impartially probe the MUDA scam, citing the agency’s jurisdiction under the State government. Krishna announced that he would submit all supporting documents to Karnataka High Court on 26 November, seeking a CBI investigation into the case.

Addressing reporters, Krishna highlighted irregularities during the tenures of former MUDA commissioners DB Natesh and GT Dinesh. He revealed that Lokayukta SP questioned Natesh extensively and also investigated former MUDA chairman D Dhruvakumar on Tuesday regarding the controversial allotment of alternative MUDA sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi.

Krishna also alleged suspicious activity involving the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law, M Mallikarjunaswamy, an accused in the case. According to him, Mallikarjunaswamy visited the Lokayukta SP’s office at 7.30pm. on Tuesday, staying for over 30 minutes after the prolonged questioning of Natesh.

He filed a complaint with senior Lokayukta officials, questioning why the accused visited at odd hours without a formal notice, which typically requires appearances during regular hours. —Salar News
